While most dentures are made of acrylic, they can be made in different ways—conventional or immediate. Conventional dentures are molded to the mouth after all teeth have been extracted and the gums have fully healed, while immediate dentures are placed immediately after extractions. However, your gums can still heal beneath immediate dentures.
You can also choose between upper or lower dentures, or both. While upper dentures cover the roof of your mouth, lower dentures are shaped like a horseshoe to leave room for your tongue. Dr. Meyer and Dr. Clough also offer options like implant-supported dentures for patients requiring a stronger foundation for a secure fit.
